Cubs Shoot Their Mojo

So, we do all this dealing to get another catcher who can’t hit, has less familiarity with the pitching staff, and is possibly worse defensively than what we already had…   for?  We were winning at a .750 rate and we tinkered…  why?  Uy.

I don’t see good times ahead unless we make another significant move in CF or RF.  The extraordinary success rate we had of late coincided with the Barrett trade.  Now with the Kendall acquisition, it’s at an end.  I should have posted this prior to last night’s loss, but at least I’m on record with my father on brother…  for what that’s worth.

On a positive note, I can’t tell you how happy I am to see better plate discipline this year.  During the Dusty Baker regime, we swung at everything.  Now, we get disciplined at-bats from just about everyone but Soriano and JJ.  It’s amazing.

Well the cubs really handed it to the Giants today. I know Kendall is slumping this year and im not sure why they went after him either but he is a career .297 hitter so who knows.

    Hey Kyle,

I’m on record in saying how well we play when Koyie Hill starts. So, today’s result doesn’t surprise me.

I hope Kendall comes in and hits to his career averages, but I don’t feel confident in it. Part of me thinks he might be injured because his numbers are so different from seasons past. I just think it’s sad that he’ll get the bulk of the starts from here on in. If we didn’t increase the catcher position offensively, why’d we even do this? Why rock the boat? I understand you were lost on that as well. I agree… let’s hope Kendall hits.
